Project Description

Ferrels Road Cooroy

263 Ferrels Road Cooroy is a sprawling, top-end, multi-million dollar, luxury architectural residence on acreage. Shadforth Lythgo constructed the home and undertook the civil works.

Steep slope: The site was very steep – especially the very long driveway. This proved challenging when benching and cutting the site. Not only that, because the driveway was so steep it proved to be a major challenge getting trucks onto the site. The trucks we would use normally wouldn’t make it up the slope so we had to ensure that smaller trucks were used and that the payload was minimised.

Protected vegetation: There were areas of protected vegetation very close to the home site so we erected signage and barriers to define the area to ensure that the protected area was left untouched.

Ineffective power to the site: Because the site is in a semi-rural area there was ineffective power and didn’t have council water or sewerage so we had to ensure that the home was self-sufficient. We installed solar back up and generators, septic systems and underground water tanks.

“Thanks for your professionalism, your dedication and hard work over the past 15 months. Dean, in particular, we are nominating for Sainthood, not only for his extraordinary building skills but also for his incredible ability to remain calm and smile no matter what! His catch phrase, “it’s all good”, made us feel better even on the most stressful days.
The house is a testament to your excellent building/organisation skills; we’re convinced a lesser team would not have been able to deal with the demanding details (and clients)!”
